Our May meeting takes a slight detour from the usual schedule as we gather at the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre (BOEC) for a special evening of astronomy, learning, and potentially some observing under the stars.

🌌 Galaxy Classification
What makes a galaxy spiral, elliptical, or irregular? This session will explore the different galaxy types in a clear and visual way — perfect for both observers and astrophotographers.

✨ Constellation Focus: Coma Berenices
This subtle but fascinating spring constellation features:

• The story of Queen Berenice’s sacrifice
• Rich fields of faint galaxies and star clusters
• A gateway into the Virgo Cluster region

🌠 May Night Sky Highlights
We’ll review some of the best celestial targets and events visible this month from our region.

📸 Member Astrophotography Showcase
Featuring recent images and projects from BAS members.

🌙 Possible Observing Session After the Meeting
Because we are meeting at BOEC, weather permitting we may head outside afterward for some live observing. Dress warmly and bring your curiosity.
