DESCRIPTION:☀️ Solstice at the Henge – Summer Solstice Celebration\nJoin the Bluewater Astronomical Society and local Tai Chi groups for a unique Summer Solstice gathering at the beautiful Keppel Croft Gardens in Big Bay. \nThis annual event combines astronomy\, nature\, Tai Chi\, and ancient solar alignment observations in a relaxed outdoor setting overlooking Georgian Bay. \n📅 Date: Saturday\, June 20\, 2026\n📍 Location: Keppel Croft Gardens\n504156 Grey Road 1\, Georgian Bluffs\, Ontario \n🕚 Start Time: Approximately 11:00 AM\n🌞 Solar Noon / Solstice Alignment: Approximately 1:25 PM \nEvent Highlights\n\nTai Chi demonstrations and participation\nSummer Solstice presentation at the Stone Henge\nSolar telescope observing (weather permitting)\nObserve the pointer stone shadow crossing the solstice stone at solar noon\nExplore the gardens and scenic grounds\nInformal astronomy discussions and community gathering\n\nGuests are encouraged to: \n\nBring a picnic lunch\nBring a lawn chair or blanket\nDress appropriately for outdoor weather conditions\n\n💲 Entrance Fee: $5 per person \nThis is intended to be a casual and enjoyable community event suitable for families\, astronomy enthusiasts\, nature lovers\, and anyone interested in the changing seasons and celestial cycles. \nWeather permitting\, BAS members will provide safe solar viewing through specialized solar telescopes\, allowing visitors to observe features on the Sun in real time. \nWe look forward to sharing another Summer Solstice celebration with the community. \nClear skies!
